After a short break, deliveries of jars, bouquets and buckets of lovely, local flowers are back from this Thursday. The stars of the show this week are dahlias in a range of colours from the subtle and fashionable Cafe au Lait to showstopping red globes. Supporting acts include asters, cosmos and rudbeckia while there is lots of texture available from grasses and seed heads. There are roses too carrying on their second flush.
Delivery is free within 6 miles of Oxford with a minimum order of £7.50
Please email orders to: firstname.lastname@example.org
A day’s notice is helpful, but not always needed.
A small jam jar: £7.50
A pickle jar: £10.00
Bouquets: start at £15 (with a minimum of 30 stems)
Buckets: start at £20.00 for lovely, garden-gathered flowers to arrange yourself. Makes a great present. Each bucket contains at least 40 stems of what’s growing best at the plot that week and will include show stoppers like roses and a variety of supporting act flowers such as cosmos and asters. A small number of grasses and seed heads are often included to provide movement and interest.
This week, you might notice there is a price rise for a small jar and this is because the cost of seed and compost have almost doubled over the last year. With at least 15 stems of what’s doing best at the plot, I hope it is still very good value.
The next market will be SOFACOMA at the South Oxford Community Centre, Lake St, Oxford 26th September.
If you are a customer there and have jars or buckets to return, I would very gratefully reuse them!
