Unfortunately, I won’t be at Wolvercote Community Market this weekend as planned due to an unavoidable and unexpected clash.
If you were hoping to pick up some tomato, courgette or cosmos plants there are still some available which I am happy to deliver after this weekend. Details below; email me if you’d like to make an order.

Tomatoes & Courgettes: £1.75 a pot
The tomato plants still need a little hardening off and the warm weather will be perfect for this. It is best to plant tomato plants when their first flowers appear and, if planting outside, when night time temperatures are warmer and around 10 degrees. If the temperature is lower they can be protected with fleece. Then they will need regular watering and weekly feeds with either seaweed solution or tomato feed. All tomatoes enjoy sun and can be grown in the ground or in containers in a greenhouse or outdoors in a warm spot.
All three varieties below are of the indeterminate kind which means they need tying into a support such as a bamboo cane and to have their side shoots removed as they appear. This may seem a lot of bother, but it is worth it for the delicious taste of a home grown tomato.

Black Cherry: a sweet, juicy cherry variety which has dark, healthy fruit and is happy to grow outside.
Gardeners Delight: a long time favourite producing long trusses of cherry tomatoes packed with flavour. Reliable and long fruiting.
Sungold: a beautifully sweet orange cherry tomato with a soft skin and fantastic flavour.
Courgette Blanco di Trieste £1.75 a pot
A tasty, reliable and productive variety with a light green skin.
Cosmos Double Click Cranberries
One of the very best annuals for its productiveness, beauty and reliability. It gives height to garden borders and is a great late Spring filler. It can also self seed for next year. Enjoys sun and well drained soil and goes on generously flowering until the first frosts. These plants have been pinched out and are big enough to be planted out now.
